The Worcester office

Central Massachusetts patients are seen in Worcester rather than being asked to travel into Boston. For a follow-up appointment after surgery, that difference is roughly ninety minutes of driving each way.

Consultations, examinations, and follow-up appointments take place here. Where an operation is needed, surgery is performed at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, and your follow-up care returns to Worcester.

Work injuries in Worcester

Worcester is a manufacturing, warehousing and healthcare employment centre, and those industries generate the shoulder and knee injuries seen most often at this office.

If you were hurt at work, say so when you call. It changes what we collect from the first visit, and starting the record correctly is considerably easier than correcting it later. Dr. Ackland has treated Massachusetts workers' compensation patients for more than twenty years and is a certified expert examiner for the Department of Industrial Accidents. There is more detail on the workers' compensation page.

The Department of Industrial Accidents runs a regional office in Worcester, so many Central Massachusetts workers' compensation matters are heard locally. If your claim is being handled through the Worcester DIA office, being examined and treated nearby is worth knowing about. More about impartial examinations under M.G.L. c.152 §11A.
